Project History

In 2005, The Office of Head Start funded eight Innovation and Improvement Projects (IIPs) nationwide.

The IIPs are part of an Office of Head Start initiative to strengthen and support Head Start programs.

Community Development Institute (CDI), located in Denver, Colorado, received a funding award for the Head Start English Language Learners Project (HELLP).

CDI created the HELLP project in an effort to strengthen early childhood education for low income children.
